Born and raised on the island of O‘ahu, Hawai‘i, Taylor McPherson is a hapa haole-kānaka maoli photographer, who currently lives in Northern California as a student.
Essential to Taylor's work is an artistic intentionality: a push against our culture that makes it often easier to view bodies as hyper-sexualized objects for sale instead of something to exist in. Her art is full of color and contrast, and creates feelings of emboldened existence, power, vulnerability, and love.
